Here’s a simple recipe that we use:
Ingredients:
• 6 ounces turmeric root (do not use powder, this will cause it to be gritty and separate)
• 6 ounces of fresh ginger root
• Juice of 6 lemons
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
• dilute with filtered water to make two full quarts (optional for consistency and dilution)
Instructions:
1. Soak the ginger and turmeric in a bowl of 50/50 white vinegar and water for 2 minutes. Then fully rinse under water while rubbing off any debris. This also helps wash away any residues or pesticides. Use organic whenever possible!
2. Chop the roots of ginger and turmeric so they fit well in blender. (No need to peel). Prepare over a cookie sheet or other protective barrier so your counters do not get stained.
3. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
4. Strain the mixture, and pour the liquid into a 2 quart or larger pitcher. Add filtered water to fill 2 quart jars.
5. Store up to 30 days in the fridge, in jar with an airtight lid. Pour a shot every morning.

This recipe is well outside of my comfort zone. I started strong following the directions, then it unraveled quickly.
